Heaven's Secret

By Tom Campbell
Being remembered by family and friends after you pass away may be more important than you think. This article describes a possible scenario that you may want to consider, which I refer to as Heaven's Secret.
Picture
Assume for a moment that you have died and find yourself in Heaven.  Congratulations, you made it. Even though you know you don't deserve it, your Christian faith together with God's gifts of forgiveness and grace allows you to be in Heaven for the rest of eternity. You find yourself surrounded by the love of God, and the love of others who are also in Heaven.  You discover that Heaven is a wonderful place to be, and you are happy that you are there. Although you are no longer alive, Heaven is completely satisfying and fulfilling, surpassing even your wildest dreams about what it would be like. Heaven is your new reality, and it's better than great... it's heavenly!
After a while, you notice that many of the other people in Heaven seem to disappear from time to time, without any explanation or reason. While this doesn't bother you, it does raise the question in your mind about where they go, and what brings them back. Since you are perfectly happy in Heaven, it's not a problem, you just wonder about it.
And then all of a sudden, without warning, you are transported away from Heaven. In the form of a spirit, you find yourself in the presence of many of your family and friends who are still alive. And because you are a spirit, you can see and hear them, but they cannot see or hear you. Appearantly, you have dropped in on a conversation they are having, and as you listen, you hear your name being mentioned.

It turns out that they are talking about you! They are sharing good memories about you when you were still alive, and you are there to witness and hear their whole conversation! What a joyful experience! To be able to share in their happiness as they remember the good times they had when you were around. And to see how everyone has changed since you passed is so rewarding. What a rush! But after a few minutes, their conversation comes to an end, and you find yourself transported back to Heaven.
Now you understand why so many of those in Heaven disappear from time to time, and then return. Obviously, it's because they are being remembered by family and friends they knew when they were alive, and are now being transported back to the land of the living to enjoy hearing those memories again. What a wonderful gift!
But now a new thought enters your mind. Why is it that some people in Heaven seem to disappear and reappear more frequently than others? Did they do something while they were still alive, that causes their family and friends think about them more frequently now?
My personal theory about Heaven
"I believe that when we think about loved ones who are already in Heaven, God provides a way for those lost loved one to travel back to Earth in spirit, just for a moment, to be with us, and to see how we are doing."

I realize that this is only a theory, and is completely without Biblical justification. But if I'm right, my Forever Picture will increase my chances of being thought about about after I am gone. And to travel back as a spirit to be able to see how my family is living their life would be such a great gift! For that reason, I hope that I am right!
